Fastest Car 2011

It was recorded may 2011 a couple of months after finishing Big Black Car. I revisited a couple of tracks in 2022 when I was putting together the archive, as I thought the originals were not good enough to show. I tried remixing them but was dissapointed with the result, and recording them again didn't take long.

You will here the new tracks amongst the old, they are 'So Unkind' & 'Realize'. Another track called 'We Never Met' that ran just before 'Cinemaz' was taken out as I was sick of it, and the drums were very poorly recorded and mixed.

The general recording is quite lo-fi, as I only had one microphone recording the drums and I would layer up after, causing details to get lost in the mix. I keep coming back to this album to remix as I have the abilities to make it sound closer to how I originally planned, so the tracks may change ever so slightly over time.

At the time I made Fastest Car I was also playing in a band called 'Sombre' and was procrastinating from my GCSE's in the time we were given to revise. I was happy to have got my love affair for the strokes out of my system, but this album was definitely important for my development in getting a tighter, cleaner sound, which I had used for tracks on the next album 'Well, Ok' later that year.
